Scrandemonium
Scrandemonium is a PaperToss Insipired Unity game demo. It was part of my 3rd Year professional project module and gave me the chance to work in a team for the first time using Unity on a production level. The project was commissioned by an external company in Scotland called Zero Waste Scotland . The idea behind the project was to create a game that helped spreading awareness on the importance of Recycling and how to properly store everyday items and food.
We decided to target Android as the desired platform, this was a collective decision to facilitate development given the time contraints as well as the lack of necessary testing kits to develop on.
Key Development Details
The team was made up of 4 artists, 1 designer and 1 programmer (me). Designing stage started in February and Production stage began a month later with a few prototyping sessions to study the touch input handling in Unity and how to create the tossing mechanic.
My main responsabilites revolved around anything code related. From getting started in C#, to learning Unity basics. I developed a technical design document and attended weekly meetings with our supervisor. The team also made every effort in continuing production during the last month before submission right when the Covid lockdown went into effect.
Skills Acquired
